CHANGING THE WORLD

Church Missions

Jesus came, not to be served, but to serve, and to do so in a manner that reflected His extravagant, selfless love. In this way, He conveyed the heart of the Father, and brought glory to His name.

Simply put, we desire to live as Jesus did—in word and deed—as we walk out His call to love our neighbor, care for the “least” among us, and proclaim His name, in our neighborhood and throughout the world.

There are a few things we do to “live this out”. The heart behind these activities is that as a community of believers we would desire to come together, and corporately carry out that which we have all been called to live out in the everyday moments of life. And that as a result the lost would experience the love and power of Christ through His unified body.

Currently we serve lunch once a month at Fruit of the Vine, hang out with our neighbors at Thompson Park every Thursday evening, participate in the ministries of International Friendship, Inc., and financially support Gospel for Asia. We also hold an annual rummage sale to raise money for the women of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (and now Columbus) who are escaping sexual slavery.

Neighborhood Missions
As a church, we believe that God desires to have a relationship with people all over the world, and we want to be a part of that! We start with our own neighborhood. One Sunday a month, we go as a church body into the community after our church service. We pick up trash, talk to people, offer services, and anything else we feel would help those living closest to us.

Gospel for Asia
We also want to see God change lives beyond our small sphere of influence. One way we do this is through supporting native missionaries in Asia through Gospel for Asia.  They are able to reach people in remote villages that we as Americans are unable to go.
